Deputy Auditor General

Mrs. Edeldi Ayala holds a Master’s Degree in Business Administration and a Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting. She began her professional career in 2011 as an auditor in the private sector and has since accumulated over a decade of experience in auditing, financial management, and accountability.

She has served for over three years at the Office of the Auditor General of Belize as Supervisor of Audit and was recently promoted to Deputy Auditor General, where she played a key role in strengthening audit quality, oversight, and compliance within the public sector. During her tenure, Mrs. Ayala completed numerous professional development courses, further enhancing her technical expertise and reinforcing her commitment to professional excellence.

In addition to her responsibilities, Mrs. Ayala has represented Belize, through the Office of the Auditor General, at regional and international workshops and trainings, contributing to capacity building initiatives aimed at strengthening auditing practices and institutional effectiveness.

Mrs. Ayala is recognized for her professionalism, technical competence and dedication to promoting transparency, accountability and sound financial management.
